I've been a practicing attorney for over twenty-five years, concentrating on forming and structuring legal entities, negotiating and drafting complex commercial and licensing contracts for high technology, software (SaaS, PaaS), pharmaceutical and industrial companies - from startup to Fortune 500. I have also advised my clients on M&A and financing transactions. I have roll-up-the-sleeves experience, having served as General Counsel for a number of companies, both private and public. And yes, I have been through an IPO and numerous rounds of private financing transactions.
I started my legal career as a tax lawyer. Not content just handling U.S. federal and state tax matters, I spent a considerable part of my career as an international tax and business lawyer, helping my clients to optimize their global tax costs and streamline their operations. I worked and lived in Asia and Europe doing internal tax and legal work for large, publicly-traded international corporations. And to top it off, I was an internal tax partner for one for the Big 4 accounting and consulting firms.
